Experience an aircraft carrier in action! Witness simulated flight operations as aircraft are lifted to the flight deck and placed into launch position; participate in mission briefings; sit in the cockpit of a fighter jet! Saturday, May 12, 2012 – THE HARRY JAMES ORCHESTRA BIG BAND DANCE
The big band sounds of the Harry James Orchestra return to the USS Hornet! Get ready to put on your dancing shoes and Swing, Jitterbug, Rhumba, Cha Cha, and dance the night away! Don’t worry if you don’t know all of the dance steps—former Fred Astaire dance instructor Jim Truesdale and his team will be giving free dance lessons all night. The fabulous Swingin’ Blue Stars will be performing the Andrew Sisters classics. If you don’t like to dance, just sit back and enjoy the show! Cash bars and food concessions will be available during the evening.
