Second Deck:
- Forward Auxiliary Emergency Generator Room, lower level
- Pilot Ready Room 2 * - used for Aviation Merit Badge classes
- Officers' Wardroom – where officers ate and attended meetings
- Wardroom Lounge – where off-duty officers could socialize, read, watch movies, and relax
- Wardroom Pantry – officers’ meals were cooked in the Galley one deck below and served from the pantry
- Officers’ Staterooms – officers’ quarters
- Pilot Ready Room 3 – Electronic Warfare exhibit is displayed here
- Pilot Ready Room 4 – where pilots received their mission briefings (pictorial exhibit of fighter/attack aircraft)
- Marine Detachment (MARDET) – Marines office, berthing, head, and lounge
- Garbage Disposal Room
- Auxiliary Laundry – primarily used by the medical department
- Medical Spaces & Sick Bay – HORNET contained a complete hospital with operating rooms, examination rooms, pharmacy, labs, and ward
- Crew’s Berthing – sleeping quarters with bunks
- Crew’s Water Closets & Wash Rooms - operational for visitors
- Chapel/Library
- Torpedo Shop
- CPO Mess / CPO Lounge / CPO Pantry – Chief Petty Officers were the senior enlisted men
- Crew’s VS-35 Berthing
- Repair Locker 3
Third Deck: *
- Brig – the ship’s jail
- Special Weapons – HORNET carried nuclear weapons
- Port Catapult Room – houses machinery that operates the catapults
- Dental
- Bakery
- Crew's Mess / Crew's Galley – used by the museum youth Live-Aboard Program
- Crew's Berthing Spaces -
Fourth Deck: *
- Engine Room – HORNET propulsion provided by four steam-powered, gear-turbine engines
