Driving Directions

From San Francisco: Cross the Bay Bridge towards Oakland and follow the signs for 880 South/San Jose/Alameda. Take the Broadway/Alameda exit and turn right at the bottom of the ramp onto 5th Street. Stay in the right lane. Continue on 5th Street to Broadway. At the Broadway intersection, veer to your left; the Webster Street Tube (tunnel) to Alameda is under the freeway. After emerging from the tube, continue on Webster Street to the first stoplight (Atlantic). Turn right on Atlantic Avenue and continue straight into Alameda Point (formerly Naval Air Station Alameda), crossing Main Street. Continue to the T intersection at the water. Turn left onto Ferry Point and proceed towards the cluster of large gray ships. (See Detour instructions in the event of Tube closure.)

From Sacramento and 80 Westbound: Take 880 south and take the Broadway/Alameda exit. At the end of the ramp turn right onto 5th Street. Stay in the right lane. Continue on 5th Street to Broadway. From Walnut Creek and 24 Westbound: Take Highway 24 to 980 to downtown Oakland. Take the 11th/12th Street exit onto Brush Street. Proceed to 7th Street and turn left onto 7th Street. Turn right on Webster Street which will take you into the Webster Tube (tunnel) to Alameda. After emerging from the tube, continue on Webster Street to the first stoplight (Atlantic). Turn right on Atlantic and continue straight into Alameda Point (formerly Naval Air Station Alameda), crossing Main Street. Continue to the T intersection at the water. Turn left onto Ferry Point and proceed towards the cluster of large gray ships. (See Detour instructions in the event of Tube closure.)

From San Jose and 880 Northbound: Proceed toward downtown Oakland and take the Broadway exit. At the end of the ramp, follow the signs to Alameda, turning right on Broadway and then immediately turning right on 7th Street. Go two blocks to Webster and turn right again, entering the Webster Tube (tunnel) to Alameda. (Alternate: Turn left on Broadway and left again to enter Tube under freeway overpass.) After emerging from the tube, continue on Webster Street to the first stoplight (Atlantic). Turn right on Atlantic Avenue and continue straight into Alameda Point (formerly Naval Air Station Alameda), crossing Main Street. Continue to the 'T' intersection at the water. Turn left onto Ferry Point and proceed towards the cluster of large gray ships. (See Detour instructions in the event of Tube closure.)

From Oakland Airport: Follow Hegenberger out of the Airport and turn left on Doolittle Drive. This will lead over a bridge into Alameda and become Otis Drive. Proceed down Otis to Westline Drive/8th Street (end of road before park entrance) and turn right. Turn left on Central Avenue and follow the road approximately one mile and through the bend. After the traffic light, stay to the left to continue on Main Street. At Atlantic Avenue, turn left and continue into Alameda Point (formerly Naval Air Station Alameda). Continue to the 'T' intersection at the water. Turn left onto Ferry Point and proceed towards the cluster of large gray ships..

Detour for Tube Closures: Get on 880 South towards San Jose and take the 23rd Street exit. Follow the signs to Alameda and go over the Park Street Bridge. Turn right at Lincoln Avenue and proceed approx. 2 miles. Turn right at Constitution Way and then left on Atlantic Avenue Follow Atlantic Avenue through the gate into Alameda Point (formerly Naval Air Station Alameda). Turn left on Ferry Point and proceed along the water towards the cluster of large ships. Parking is available across the street from the USS Hornet.

Alameda/Oakland Ferry: Service is provided by the Blue and Gold Fleet from San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf area, the Ferry Building, and Oakland's Jack London Square!

Ferry Daily Service: Operates 10:00am-7:00pm with bus connection. Disembark at Alameda Ferry Terminal and transfer to AC Transit #63

BART: Service is provided from downtown San Francisco and many other Bay Area locations!

BART Weekday Service: Disembark at 12th Street Station in Oakland and transfer to AC Transit #63. The bus connection is available 5:30am-11:00pm and stops less than a mile from HORNET's pier.

BART Weekend Service: Disembark at Fruitvale Station in Oakland and transfer to AC Transit #63. The bus connection is available 5:30am-11:00pm and stops less than a mile from HORNET's pier.

AC Transit #63: Connections are available from BART, the Alameda/Oakland Ferry, and other bus routes. Stops less than a mile from HORNET's pier.

ACT Weekday Service: 5:30am-11:00pm via Fruitvale BART and 9:00am-8:30pm via the Alameda/Oakland Ferry.

ACT Weekend Service: 5:30am-11:00pm via Fruitvale BART and 10:00am-7:00pm via the Alameda/Oakland Ferry.
