Curious to know where Museum artifacts are kept when they aren’t on display? Come aboard on Saturday, June 3rd to experience a special, behind-the-scenes tour to see the collection storage facilities of the USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum! Find out how we receive and care for artifacts aboard the USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum. Tours are included with General Admission, will take place in the morning and afternoon, and will be guided off the beaten path by one of our Collections Department crew members as you visit three of our special collection storage rooms. Learn about the precautions and preservation measures put in place by the Museum to help better preserve and protect our artifacts for future generations!

Since some of our collections facilities can be challenging to get to, we will also feature a “white gloved” hands-on experience on the main Hangar Deck where guests can interact with real artifacts from the Museum’s collection! Experience history firsthand and get a chance to safely handle historical artifacts while learning about the item from a collections specialist or even the Curator!
