Join us for tea in the Officers’ Wardroom for a winter tea service! Eat and drink from vintage USN china aboard the historic aircraft carrier USS Hornet and explore the ship! We will have two seatings, one at 11 AM and another at 3 PM. All tickets to tea include General Admission to the Museum. All profits from this tea will go toward improving the Museum’s exhibitions and caring for its collection of artifacts!
The USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum invites you to a special ribbon cutting event on Saturday, August 19th, 10 AM-5 PM.
The Museum is proud to unveil our completely restored FM2 “Wildcat” aircraft. The aircraft was recovered from Lake Michigan in 1994, and was originally used to train pilots for aircraft operations such as landing and takeoff. These types of aircraft were flown off of USS Hornet CV8 during WWII in 1942. The Museum received this air plane in 2006,
Special Thursday evening Event – Evening with the Museum’s Exhibition Staff
Thursday, June 1st, 2017 – 6-8 PM
Join us for a special after-hours sip and chat with the Museum’s Exhibition staff including the Curator, Exhibition Designer, Registrar and Research Technician. The team will chat about all the challenges and magic that happens when creating an exhibition. There will also be an opportunity for special guided tours of some of the exhibits to hear about how they were developed and how the team met unique challenges of building displays aboard a historic WWII warship.
